Education Law Career Panel, January 25

Students Interested in Pursuing Legal Careers in Education are Encouraged to Attend

The Urban Education Law and Policy Initiative will host a career panel on January 25 so students can learn about opportunities in the field of education law.

Panelists include esteemed professionals in the field, including former Center for Social Justice Professor Chinh Le, whom New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram tapped to become director of the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights last year.

The New Jersey Division of Civil rights is the agency responsible for investigating discrimination complaints and eradicating illegal discrimination in New Jersey, the first state in the nation to investigate civil rights complaints.

Mr. Le had previously been a practitioner-in-residence at Seton Hall Law’s Center for Social Justice. In that capacity, he litigated, supervised students and worked on housing- and education-related matters as part of the Urban Revitalization Project. He has also written several books about desegregation and integration in American schools.

Other panelists will include:

  1. Craig Livermore, Board Chair at the Newark Legacy Charter School and Founder of the New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Project (NJ LEEP)
  2. Michael Williams, Associate at Porzio, Bromberg, and Newman
  3. Kyle Rosenkrans of Essex-Newark Legal Services
