Junior Faculty Writing Competition

Junior Faculty are invited to submit papers that may, but need not, be related to our broad conference theme, Our Country, Our World in a “Post-Racial” Era.

ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to law faculty who have taught for seven or fewer years at a law school located in the United States and its territories during the 2009-2010 academic year.

PRIZES: First and Second Place winners will be recognized, and be given the opportunity to present their papers, at the National Conference. Honorable Mention notice may be available for other meritorious submissions.

FORMAT: Each entry should be a scholarly piece fit for publication in a law review, and accommodate blind review. Preference will be given to entries of 25,000 words or less. Entries should follow standard footnote formatting, no smaller than 9-point font, and be submitted in English. The main text should be in 12-point font and double-spaced with one-inch margins on all sides of each page. Published papers or papers already accepted for publication are ineligible. Only one paper per entrant will be considered.

SUBMISSION: Entries must be submitted electronically, in either Word or pdf format, on or before June 15, 2010, to Professor Matthew Fletcher, Michigan State University Law School, Matthew Fletcher matthew.fletcher@law.msu.edu.
