CLE Program Information: Things to Know Before You Attend

Need information about the Seton Hall Law CLE for Alumni Program?  Learn more >>

Dear Alumni,

We are delighted to welcome you to Seton Hall Law School’s Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs. Our courses are designed to provide our alumni and the legal community with interesting and unique educational opportunities while earning valuable CLE credits. All of our CLE programs are available to the broader legal community with the exception of two alumni-only events. Please take note of the following important information about our upcoming course(s):

  1. Course calendar - The CLE Course Calendar may be found here. Each course requires separate registration; registration must be completed online through the course’s respective link. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email advising that you have successfully registered for the course. Please note that courses delineated as “alumni-only” will only be available to graduates of Seton Hall University School of Law.

  2. Materials - Course materials will be available online (on a password protected portal) 24 hours before the start of the course. An email will be sent to you before the event providing instructions on how to access the materials electronically. There will be a very limited amount of printed materials distributed at the course(s); available on a first come, first served basis.  At the course, you will only be provided with a timed agenda and evaluation sheet. If you prefer a hard copy, it is highly recommended that you print the materials and bring them with you to the course.

  3. Certification - Seton Hall Law School is an accredited provider of New Jersey and Pennsylvania CLE. We will only issue certifications for these two jurisdictions. New Jersey is now an approved jurisdiction of New York CLE credits thus allowing attorneys admitted in New York to attend and earn credits for programs accredited by New Jersey. Since Seton Hall Law School is an accredited provider of New Jersey CLE courses our events will take place in New Jersey, New York has granted reciprocity to our programs. Therefore, pursuant to New York rules, we will no longer issue New York CLE certificates. However, you will receive a New Jersey CLE certificate for your attendance, which may be used to seek credit in New York. For more information on NY rules please see page 15 of the NY State CLE regulations and guidelines.

  4. Registration - Check-in (for attendance verification requirement purposes) will begin 30 minutes before the start of the course unless otherwise stated in the confirmation email. Courses will begin promptly at the designated start time(s). Please plan on arriving in advance of the program start time to allow sufficient time to check-in.

  5. Sign-Out - In order to receive full credit for attending a course, all participants are required to sign-out at the conclusion of the program. Please note that if you arrive later or leave early, your Certificate of Attendance will reflect partial credit, as appropriate. Your Certificate of Attendance will be emailed to you within one week of the course completion. Please be sure to add [email protected] to your address book to ensure proper delivery.

  6. Parking - Unless otherwise noted in the registration/confirmation email, paid parking is available at the LAZ parking garage located adjacent to the Law School building. The entrance to the garage is at 42 Mulberry Street.

  1. Cancellations, Refund Policy and Substitutions - If you are unable to attend a course, please notify us by email at [email protected] at least 24 hours prior to the event. If you make your request 10 days prior to the date of the event, a full refund will be issued. If your cancellation is received between 5-9 days prior to the date of the event, you will receive a partial refund, as we will retain a $10 administrative holdback fee. No refunds will be issued if cancellation is not requested at least 5 days prior to the event.
Individuals unable to attend may request a substitution no later than 2 days prior to the event start date. Please forward the name and contact information for the substituting individual to [email protected].

  2. CLE Financial Assistance - Seton Hall Law School recognizes the importance of offering CLE opportunities to attorneys practicing in the region. To this end, an effort will be made to offer scholarships to individuals who will benefit from the CLE programs offered by Seton Hall Law. Scholarships are limited in number and amount (not to exceed 50% of tuition) and will be awarded based on financial need, professional qualifications, availability of funds and date of application. Please complete the attached application to be considered.

Thank you for your attention to these details. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Best regards,
