RICARDO SOLANO, JR.

Ricardo Solano Jr., a member of Friedman, Kaplan, Seiler & Adelman LLP, in Newark, NJ, focuses his practice on criminal defense, internal investigations, corporate compliance, and complex commercial litigation. Before joining the firm, Ricardo served as First Assistant Attorney General of the State of New Jersey from September 1998 through January 2010. He also served in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey from 2001 to 2006.
Following law school, Ricardo clerked for the Hon. Deborah T. Poritz, Chief Justice, New Jersey Supreme Court, and then the Hon. Maryanne Trump Barry, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is currently a member of the Lawyers’ Advisory Committee for the District Court in New Jersey, and a past member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Evidence. In addition to the Alumni Council, Ricardo is an active participant in the Hispanic Bar Association of NJ. In 2010, Ricardo was selected as one of the New Jersey Law Journal's "Forty Under 40" distinguished lawyers.
Ricardo is married to Melissa Provost, J.D. ’98, and they have two children. When they aren’t spending time with their daughter and son, odds are they are watching either the Yankees or Giants.
