David T. Weinberg, J.D.,
Assistant Dean, Career Services

David Weinberg, J.D., Assistant Dean, Career Services: David is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision for the Office of Career Services with the ultimate goal of expanding the employment opportunities for students and alumni in private practice, public interest, government service, and alternative career paths. He is the primary law school contact for employer outreach and marketing, as well as the primary law school representative in regional and national career professional organizations. David is committed to OCS’s primary goal in providing high-caliber customer service and counseling to students and alumni. David practiced law for several years before joining Seton Hall Law’s Office of Admissions, where he served the law school for six years, most recently serving as the Director of Admissions. David received his A.B. with a double major in Film Studies and Cognitive Science from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.


Sonia Cunha
Director of Career Services

Sonia Cunha, Director of Career Services: Sonia is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the office, as well as advising students and alumni with respect to their search for employment. Specifically, Sonia’s primary counseling responsibility is to work with more recent alumni on their job search strategy, whether they are seeking their first legal employer, or their next opportunity after having completed a judicial clerkship. Sonia began her career at Seton Hall Law in 1986 and served as the Registrar and Bursar prior to joining the Office of Career Services in 2003. Sonia Cunha received her B.A. from Seton Hall University.


Paula T. Edgar, J.D.,
Associate Director of Career Services

Paula Edgar, J.D., Associate Director of Career Services: Paula is responsible for providing comprehensive career counseling to students, as well as working with students and alumni considering alternative careers. Paula is the office’s representative on the Dean’s Diversity Committee. Paula is also the primary counseling contact for students seeking opportunities in the international arena. Before coming to Seton Hall, Paula served as the Executive Director of Practicing Attorneys for Law Students Program, Inc. (PALS), a non-profit organization which provides mentoring, academic support, and networking opportunities to law students and junior attorneys of color. Previously, Paula practiced law as an attorney in the Law Enforcement Division of the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Paula received her B.A. in Anthropology from California State University (Fullerton) and her J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law.


Erin R. Scherzer, J.D.,
Associate Director of Career Services

Erin Scherzer, J.D., Associate Director of Career Services: Erin provides comprehensive career counseling to students and alumni with a particular focus on helping those interested in government and public interest careers. Prior to joining Seton Hall Law, Erin was an Associate in the Business Law Department at Goodwin Procter LLP, where she primarily represented clients in private equity and leverage finance transactions. Outside of her transactional work, Erin represented a number of pro bono clients and served on Goodwin’s Committee for Racial and Ethnic Diversity. In addition to her tenure at Goodwin Procter, Erin has legal experience with the National Labor Relations Board and PSEG. Before law school, Erin worked for Demos: A Network for Ideas and Action and for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Erin received her B.A. in Sociology from Bates College and her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution.


Swatee Jasoria, J.D.,
Associate Director of Career Services

Swatee Jasoria, J.D., Associate Director of Career Services: Swatee is an Associate Director of Career Services, focused on providing career counseling to and programmatic initiatives for students and alumni, particularly those interested in health law and intellectual property opportunities. Prior to joining Seton Hall, Swatee worked in private practice for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto. In addition to her work in private practice, Swatee has also worked for a non-profit and the judiciary. Swatee received her B.S. in Genetics and her M.A. in Biotechnology, Law & Ethics from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. She received her J.D. from Rutgers Law School in Newark where she was a member of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter.


Joseph Steinberg
Career Counselor

Joseph Steinberg, L.L.B., Career Counselor: Joe devotes most of his time in the Office of Career Services to holding mock interview sessions with both current students and alumni to help prepare them for actual employment interviews, and advising and counseling alumni who are embarking on job searches both in the legal profession and in other fields. He also counsels current students and alumni at the Law School. He was with the law firm of Lowenstein Sandler PC for 49 years, and still serves the firm in an "of counsel" capacity. While a partner of the firm, he served as Chair of the Corporate Department and Head of the Real Estate Practice Group, chaired the Recruiting Committee, and also founded and chaired the Associate Life and Training Committee. He teaches a seminar at the Law School entitled "New Jersey Land Use Practice." He earned his A.B., magna cum laude from Harvard University, and his L.L.B., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.


Maria Capra
Recruiting Coordinator

Maria Capra, Recruiting Coordinator: Maria began her employment at Seton Hall Law in 1990. As the Recruiting Coordinator, she is responsible for managing the Fall and Spring On-Campus/Resume Referral Interview Programs, the Judicial Clerkship Application process, as well as many other projects. Maria serves as the liaison between students and employers as they navigate the recruitment process.
