Heyman Fellowship Program

The Samuel J. Heyman Fellowship Program at Seton Hall University School of Law is funded by a generous gift from Mr. Samuel J. Heyman (1939-2009). After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1963, Mr. Heyman served as an Assistant Attorney General under Robert Kennedy and later as Chief Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Mr. Heyman found his time in public service to be a rewarding and enriching experience. He went on to become a successful businessman and a noted philanthropist. One of his most cherished goals was encouraging gifted young lawyers to bring their talents to federal public service. Seton Hall Law School is proud to join with Mr. Heyman in this noble cause.

Launched in 2006, the Samuel J. Heyman Fellowship Program encourages federal public service by offering students and recent graduates support and mentorship. The Samuel J. Heyman Fellowship Program offers opportunities for recent graduates and current students from Seton Hall Law School. Heyman Fellows are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to federal public service and encourage others to join this career path. Since its founding, 17 students and alumni have been named Heyman Fellows.
