WHAT IS AN MSJ?
Seton Hall Law School's Master of Science in Jurisprudence (MSJ) provides professionals working in health care, pharmaceuticals, information technology, telecommunications and biotechnology with a solid foundation in the legal and regulatory aspects of these industries. Students can concentrate in health law, intellectual property, or both.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH AN MSJ DEGREE?
The MSJ degree is unique in that is is specifically designed to provide a rigorous grounding in the law for students who do not want to become lawyers, but who instead want to use the law to enhance their effectiveness and marketability in a non-legal career. Combining this unique degree with their professional experience, MSJ graduates are discovering that there are unlimited opportunities available to them. MSJ alumni work in a broad spectrum of positions: compliance officers, contract analysts, health care administrators, medical technologists, nurse managers, patent/trademark assistants, pharmaceutical financial analysts, pharmacists, quality assurance managers, supervisors, clinical operations directors, administrators and lobbyists.
HOW MANY CREDITS WILL I NEED TO GRADUATE?
Thirty credits are required to graduate. All credits must be completed within six years of entry into the Program in order to graduate.

WHAT IS THE 2011-2012 TUITION?
Tuition is $935/credit.
IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
Financial aid assistance is available through the Federal Stafford Loan Program and/or private loans. To be considered for this program, individuals who have been accepted into the program must file the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Upon receipt of the FAFSA information, Seton Hall Law's Office of Financial Resource Management will review the student's eligibility and send an Award Notice. Part-time students need to take at least six credits a semester (five in the summer semester) to be eligible for financial aid assistance. HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN THE PROGRAM?
The number of students varies, with typically 25-35 students enrolling each year.
DO YOU OFFER BOTH FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME PROGRAMS?
Yes. Full-time students complete the program in one year; part-time students complete the program in two years. Students have up to six years in which to complete their course work.
WHEN DO CLASSES BEGIN AND WHEN ARE COURSES USUALLY OFFERED?
MSJ students are required to begin their studies during summer session: typically May 26-July 24 (Please visit law.shu.edu to verify academic calendar). Courses are conveniently offered in the evenings because most MSJ students are working professionals.
