Program Description
New Orleans Winter Study Session - BP Oil Spill Program
January 7-13, 2012
The Seton Hall University School of Law BP Oil Spill Program, offered on site in New Orleans, Louisiana, will consist of a two-credit course on the BP Oil Spill. The Program will combine lectures and guest speakers in the classroom at Loyola University School of Law with field trips, to facilitate understanding of southeastern Louisiana’s coastal ecology, the nature and extent of offshore oil installations and onshore energy facilities, the impact of the BP oil spill on ecosystems, fishing, and tourism, the nature and extent of efforts to manage the cleanup, how the cleanup fits within larger-scale coastal restoration efforts, and the challenges of the ongoing multidistrict litigation unfolding in federal district court in New Orleans.
