Study Law in Cairo

Student Policies

June 2-21, 2012 | Optional Nile Cruise June 22-25, 2012

Be a Witness to History: Study Law on the Banks of the Nile and in the Cradle of the "Arab Spring." Enroll in this Study Abroad Law Program for the Study of Law in the Middle East at the American University in Cairo.

HEALTH INSURANCE

Health insurance is mandatory for participation in the Program. All students must have a health insurance plan that provides for medical care overseas and insures for hospitalization, medical evacuation, and repatriation of remains. If the student does not have such a plan in force, the program can recommend a number of inexpensive insurance plans. Most of the plans offer insurance for the summer for a very small premium. You will be required to provide proof of insurance before registration in the program.

CANCELLATION

Seton Hall University will endeavor to run the program this summer; however, the law school reserves the right to cancel the Law in Cairo Program. Cancellation may occur due to: (1) low enrollment, and/or (2) a travel warning from the U.S. State Department declaring Cairo, Egypt to be an area of instability. If the program is cancelled, all student payments will be refunded and the program will make the best effort to make arrangements for each student enrolled to attend a similar program, if the student so desires.

POLICY OF NON-DISCRIMINATION

Seton Hall University School of Law is an equal opportunity/affirmative action institution. The School of Law provides full opportunities for the study of law to qualified candidates and does not discriminate on the basis of race, disability, gender, sexual orientation or religion.

ACCESSIBILITY FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Accessibility to places in Egypt for persons with disabilities may be somewhat limited. Although facilities at the American University in Cairo are reasonably accessible to persons with disabilities, other facilities in Cairo may present some difficulties. Any student with a serious disability should consult with a physician and the Program Director before registering for the program.
