Selection Process

Winter Intersession Program on Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking

December 21, 2009 - January 3, 2010  |  Optional Mainland Safari - January 4 - January 9, 2010

REGISTRATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9! APPLY TODAY!

Students will be selected on a competitive, rolling-admissions basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Acceptances will be extended beginning January of 2009.  In evaluating a student application, we will look at the student essay, transcript, and general suitability for foreign travel and study. The student essay should show a defined interest in the topic of modern day slavery and human trafficking and a commitment to advancing international human rights and international law in today's world.  We will seek students who will make a valuable contribution to classroom discussion, and all other program activities.  Preference will be given to students who have a background in Human Rights and/or International Law, or students who plan to focus in those areas of law.  In evaluating a student's application the program director may, in certain cases, also ask for references. We generally enroll students from the United States and Canada with a few students also coming from Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Africa.  Enrollment in the program will be limited to 45 students.

REGISTRATION

Registration deadline extended to October 9! A $250.00 non-refundable payment toward tuition must be made to Seton Hall University School of Law to secure a seat. If additional places become available after that date, students may be admitted subject to the discretion of the Program Director.

Students who wish to secure a seat in the program should do so by registering early. Seats in the program will be awarded in the order in which deposits are received. The balance of the tuition is due December 15, unless other arrangements are made. Anyone who withdraws from the program will forfeit his or her deposit.

Upon acceptance, students will be provided with an acceptance package explaining program procedures in detail, and will be asked to sign an acceptance pledge and “Assumption of Risk”  and "Waiver of Liability" forms.
