July 8, 2009 - August 7, 2009

Seton Hall University School of Law offers a challenging and rewarding four week opportunity for students to earn six credits studying international and comparative law. Seton Hall's unique summer program offers a rich and diverse educational experience in the three exceptional countries of Belgium, Luxembourg and Ireland. Students will participate gin a special session on European Union Law and learn about emerging issues in intellectual property law, and health and pharmaceutical law.

In Belgium and Luxembourg, students will have an opportunity to study European Union ("EU") policies and procedures, and become familiar with its five principal institutions: the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Court of Justice of the European Communities ("ECJ") and the European Court of Auditors. Distinguished American and European faculty, as well as prominent European Union officials, will convene the classes from July 8 - July 17 at the Louvain Institute for Ireland in Europe located in Leuven, Belgium.

In Ireland, students will study intellectual property law and international health and pharmaceutical law from a comparative perspective. The program offers a broad international learning experience through a combination of classes, field trips, and institutional visits. Leuven and Galway are European centers of intellectual property and major EU technology companies. Classes in Galway will convene from July 20 to August 7 at the National University of Ireland ("NUI") at Galway.
