Insurance

The state of New Jersey requires all full-time students attending an institution of higher education in the state to be covered by health insurance. All law students registered for 9 or more credits will be automatically provided with Accident and Illness Insurance. Students will be billed for this insurance, along with tuition, each semester. The United Health Care Brochure on the insurance plan is available online or at the Office of the Dean of Students located on the 3rd Floor.

Seton Hall University requires all students who are covered by another health insurance plan to complete a waiver form indicating other coverage. Once this form is submitted, the bursar will adjust the student's bill accordingly. Only one waiver is required per academic year.  To submit a waiver click here.  Eligible students may enroll dependents during the open enrollment period by clicking here.

Students in need of health insurance after the beginning of the academic year due to a change in circumstances may contact the Office of Student Services at 973-642-8707.  Already enrolled and need an insurance card click here.

Law students who are residents of states other than New York, New Jersey or Oregon may also obtain a policy through the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association.

Any questions or concerns regarding student health insurance please contact the Office of Student Services at 973-642-8707.
