Professor Robert Schwartz

Seton Hall Law School welcomes visiting Professor Robert Schwartz. This spring, Professor Schwartz will be teaching Human Reproduction and the Law and Torts. Professor Schwartz hails from the University of New Mexico School of Law and has also taught at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.

Professor Schwartz is a renowned scholar in the Bioethics field and co-authored “Health Law: Cases, Material and Problems, the leading health law casebook. He has also written “Treatise on Health Law,” a two-volume textbook published in 1995, and is co-editor of a volume of Health Law statutes published in 2003. Recently, he has written on end-of-life care, death and dying, managed care and the application of civil liberties principles to health care law.

Professor Schwartz serves on the editorial boards of the “Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics,” “Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy,” and the “Medical Law Review.” He has also worked as a consultant on health legislation in Cambodia, Tonga and Vietnam through the World Health Organization.
