Welcome to Seton Hall Law School

Dean, Patrick E. Hobbs

Law school should be more than just learning the law and how to think like a lawyer.  At Seton Hall Law, we'll provide you with opportunities to develop your creativity and imagination and to make a real difference.  We're a closely knit community where creativity, justice, and compassion are not just words that are spoken, but values that define who we are.

Patrick E. Hobbs
Dean

Seton Hall School of Law is a community dedicated to the development of future attorneys where students quickly learn that their teachers soon become lifetime colleagues.  Dedicated alumni, meanwhile, serve as mentors, career counselors, externship supervisors, and eventually, employers.  After students graduate, their connection to Seton Hall Law endures.

Seton Hall is an urban law school especially committed to teaching and service with an appreciation for the diversity and richness of the human experience.  At Seton Hall Law, we maintain and foster a nurturing value system of dignity, justice, and compassion in our student-centered community.

When Miriam T. Rooney founded Seton Hall Law in 1951, she became the nation's first woman law school dean, establishing our reputation for breaking new ground in legal education.

Building on that foundation, Seton Hall Law has been a center of legal excellence whose graduates have led the bench, bar, and corporations of the region.  Today, our alumni are also found in top legal firms, corporations, and government agencies around the country.

Now in its 56th year, Seton Hall Law has achieved national recognition, particularly in health and pharmaceutical law and policy, intellectual property, public interest and social justice, and international and corporate law.

Under the leadership of Dean Patrick E. Hobbs, Seton Hall Law School is proud of its world-class faculty that attracts and trains some of the best legal minds in the country.
