Public Interest and Public Service Resources for Alumni

We are happy to assist alumni engaged in or curious about public interest and government work!  Our Program offers alumni resources, including the following opportunities for career building and loan repayment assistance.

Job Searching and Advice

Our office provides job searching resources and advice to alumni.  We post all announcements on the Symplicity on-line system.  If you are an alumnus who needs access, please contact Maria Capra, Recruitment Coordinator in the Office of Career Services (OCS), at capramar@shu.edu or 973-642-8746. Access is free of charge to alumni.

If you want to speak to a career counselor, please contact Jackie Rivas, OCS Secretary, at rivasjac@shu.edu or 973-642-8746, for an appointment.

Loan Repayment Assistance

Seton Hall University School of Law provides loan repayment assistance to qualifying graduates. Graduates may receive up to $10,000 per year in loan repayment assistance for six years.

The deadline for 2008 applications passed. For information, contact Karen Sokol, Director, Office of Financial Resource Management, at sokolkar@shu.edu

Public Interest Law Career Fair

The Public Interest Law Career Fair takes place at New York University School of Law, February 7-8, 2008. The law school pays for participation by our alumni and students. The Fair provides graduates of participating schools with three programs.  Graduates search job information through the online Fair system. Graduates take part in the networking aspect of the Fair; employers set up informational tables for "table talks" to meet potential employees. Lastly, the Fair includes presentations on public interest opportunities.

Register now for the Public Interest Law Career Fair. You must register to participate in the Fair. For graduates, registration ends February 1, 2008, 3:00 PM. Contact Veena Seelochan at seelocve@shu.edu for a password to register.

Then, register at: http://www.law.nyu.edu/depts/publicinterest/pilcfair/students.html
