A 1976 graduate of Seton Hall Law School, Rothwell was presented with the award in recognition of his professional achievements and accomplishments within New Jersey’s pharmaceutical industry.

“Tim has had a remarkable 30-year career within the pharmaceutical industry,” noted Patrick E. Rothwell began his career at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in 1972 in the legal department, subsequently moving into sales and marketing and then into the position of Chief Operating Officer. In 1989, he joined the Squibb Corporation as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the U.S. In 1991, he moved to Burroughs Wellcome where he was appointed Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing. He then returned to Sandoz and was named Chief Executive Officer.

Before assuming his current position, he had served as President and CEO of Sanofi-Synthelabo Inc, as President of Pharmacia’s Global Prescription Business and Executive Vice President of Pharmacia Corporation, and as worldwide President of Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals and President of the company’s Global Pharmaceutical Operation.

Currently, he serves on the PhRMA Board of Directors, the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Advisory Board, and the Board of Trustees for both the Somerset Medical Center Foundation and Health Institute of New Jersey, in addition to serving on Seton Hall Law School’s Board of Visitors.
