Education Law Center Externship (EXTN9188)
Prerequisites: Minimum 2.6 cumulative GPA

Since 1973, ELC has been an advocate for urban school improvement. The core mission of the organization is to improve the education of disadvantaged children to allow them to compete effectively in the economy and to actively participate in civic life. The Education Law Center believes that if disadvantaged children are provided with the programs and resources needed to help them obtain a rigorous education, the cycle of poverty can be broken and the quality of life in urban areas improved. ELC staff work to improve educational opportunities for low-income students and students with disabilities through public education, policy initiatives, research, communications and, when necessary, legal action.
