Center for Social Justice/International Human Rights Project Externship (EXTN9202)
Prerequisites: Minimum 2.6 cumulative GPA


The International Human Rights/Rule of Law Project placement takes a multi-disciplinary approach to protecting the rights of immigrants in New Jersey, with a special focus on immigrant women, through a lens of international human rights. Project externs and pro bono students will be involved in litigation on behalf of individuals and in cases with possibilities for legal reform in both domestic and international fora. Project externs and pro bono students will also be involved with drafting reports with policy recommendations on specific issues. Finally, the Project will undertake community outreach and education initiatives with the goal of building stronger ties to, creating a better understanding of, and serving the legal needs of regional immigrant communities.
