The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey (ACLU-NJ)
2 credits.
Prerequisites: Minimum 2.6 cumulative GPA


ACLU-NJ Legal Interns are involved in all aspects of the Legal Program. Legal Interns help screen requests for assistance from individuals and organizations, conduct legal research and prepare memoranda for cases, draft letters to governmental officials regarding unconstitutional ordinances or practices, and draft comments analyzing pending legislation.

The ACLU-NJ works to defend liberty throughout the state of New Jersey. ACLU-NJ is involved in litigation and advocacy on behalf of individuals, and lobbies on scores of bills in the state legislature and local councils. In addition, the ACLU-NJ is active in many public education and community organizing projects. The ACLU-NJ is located in Newark.
