Monmouth Ocean Hospital Service Organization
2 credits.
Prerequisites: Minimum 2.6 cumulative GPA; Health Law
Note: As a regulated health care entity, the externs will be required to undergo and pass an employment physical including a drug screen and to complete the administrative portions of the company’s orientation that is provided monthly. MONOC is a drug-free workplace and requires up-to-date vaccinations.


MONOC is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation that is set up as a tax exempt hospital cooperative under 501(e) of the Internal Revenue Code. It serves its 19 member hospitals with billing, purchasing and emergency medical services (EMS) and employs almost 900 people. As the largest provider of EMS services in New Jersey, MONOC provides both ground and air emergency services including basic life support transport and 911 services, advanced life support paramedic services and advanced life support specialty care transport services. In addition, MONOC’s medevac helicopter transports patients between hospitals and backs up the State’s emergency helicopters for trauma scene work
