New Jersey Public Defenders, Essex County Adult
2 credits.
Prerequisites: Minimum 2.6 cumulative GPA


Interns that are third-year students will be assigned to the pre-indictment courts since they can appear in court with supervision. In the arraignment court, students will be interviewing clients after arrest, reading and preparing paperwork, and assisting in bail arguments. In the remand court, students will be assigned to work with an attorney to help in cases, see clients appear in court before the judge to put through pleas and prepare trials.
