LAW (INTL9606)
2 or 3 credits. Seminar.
Prerequisites: Constitutional Law or Constitutional Law I & II
As a result of the breakup of
the Soviet Union and the rapid transformation of other non-democratic
regimes into democratic nation states, there has been a growing interest
in comparative constitutional law. This seminar will explore the extent to
which constitutional experience in the Unites States and various other
countries can be shared. Specific areas likely to be examined include:
judicial review, federalism, due process, and individual liberties such as
freedom of speech, free exercise of religion, and freedom of the press.
