Seton
Hall University offers the opportunity to earn a
joint degree in Law (Juris Doctor) and the
Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International
Relations.
The
Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International
Relations (MADIR) educates students for a wide
variety of management and leadership positions
in international organizations, international
businesses, non-governmental organizations and
government agencies involved in international
matters.
The
joint degree program, leading to the award of an
M.A. and J.D., presents an opportunity for
students to combine a thorough understanding of
international policy issues with the rigorous
training of law school, and to achieve the
education provided by both degrees more
efficiently.
The program, which is generally available only to
full-time students, may be completed in four
years and one summer rather than the five years
usually required for the completion of both
degrees.
Students interested in the joint
program for a Juris Doctorate and Master of Arts in
Diplomacy and International Relations (JD-MADIR) must
complete the 85 credits required for the JD, but need only
complete 30 credits for the MADIR. Students who pursue
each degree independently must complete 45 credits for the
MADIR.
