The Center for Health &
Pharmaceutical Law advances scholarship and recommendations
for policy on the varied and complex issues posed by
pharmaceutical and health law. The Center is committed to
fostering informed dialogue between policymakers, consumer
advocates, the medical profession and industry in the search
for solutions to the ethical, legal and social questions
presented in the health and pharmaceutical arena. In
addition to the exploration of critical policy issues, the
Center is a leader in providing compliance training on the
wide-ranging state and federal mandates that apply to the
safety and promotion of drugs and devices. Launched in April
2007, the Center extends Seton Hall Law Schools national
reputation in health law to pharmaceutical law and policy.
The Center:

Researches, reviews, and develops policy recommendations
on key issues on health and pharmaceutical law to inform
and shape policy at the state and national levels.

Produces
scholarship through journal publication and white papers
on emerging legal, ethical, and social issues in health
and pharmaceutical law.

Provides
a neutral forum to convene leaders in government,
industry, academia, and medicine to engage in an
informed dialogue, consider pressing policy questions,
and explore potential solutions.

Offers
educational programs on health and pharmaceutical issues
by leading experts from the public and private sectors
to examine important policy and legal issues;

Holds
compliance education and training programs on state,
federal and international regulatory requirements that
govern the research, approval, promotion and sale of
drugs and devices.
The Center operates under
the leadership of a full-time Executive Director, Tracy
Miller. In addition to her expertise in public policy,
health law, ethical issues in medicine, and compliance, the
Center draws upon the intellectual strength of the Seton
Hall Law School faculty. Faculty members bring to the
Centers work nationally recognized expertise in
pharmaceutical law, not-for-profit governance, intellectual
property law and bioethics, among other areas.
