Attention All Law School Students, Faculty,
Administrators and Staff !
As part of our continuing effort to keep all members of
our law school community informed of emergency
conditions or alerts that affect our law school,
University IT along with Legal Computing have
implemented the ClearTXT Emergency Alert Notification
System. This mobile messaging system enables important
information, such as emergency weather closings, to be
sent directly to your mobile phone and SHU email.
By default, all law school students, faculty,
administration and staff have been pre-registered in
ClearTXT and will automatically receive Law School
messages in their SHU email through our law broadcast
group.
However, to receive emergency messages on your mobile
phone, you must first OPT-IN to this service in your
ClearTXT account.
To access your account and activate this service please
follow the steps below:
1. Log in to our law school MyLAW portal and click
"Mobile Messaging" on the left under Law Links.
2. Once ClearTXT has loaded, add your mobile number and
carrier by clicking in the "My Profile" panel on the
right
(remember to click "update"
after each entry).
3. Then add text message delivery by clicking "My
Groups" under My Channels.
4. Then click "Groups" (on the left side bar).
5. Locate the "LawBroadcast" group under "Group Name"
and click "More Options (+)".
6. Check the "Text Message" box near the middle of the
page and click "Save Changes".
Please note that your wireless carrier's regular text
message fees apply.
The Law School encourages everyone with a mobile device
to sign up for this important safety service!
If you have questions, difficulty using ClearTXT or need
help adjusting your account, please contact our Law
Helpdesk at 973-642-8017 or at lawhelpdesk@shu.edu.
Thanks,
