offers many services to Seton Hall Law School

|
|
Bar
Review Courses
After graduating, students usually take bar review courses in
preparation for the Bar Exam. Commercial
organizations advertise early in the school year,
attempting to become the student's choice by
offering discounts or premiums for those who sign up
early.
Such organizations are permitted to
set up tables on the second floor, near the student
lounge for informational purposes.

Bookstore
Located on the second floor, the Law School
Bookstore offers all required course books as well
as supplies. Both new and used books are sold.

|
|
Bulletin Boards
Bulletin boards are
conveniently placed throughout the building.
They are assigned for specific purposes.
Students are requested to use boards only as
designated, and to use push-pins or thumb tacks
only. Nothing is to be posted on walls, doors, or
windows anywhere in the building. Items hung in
non-designated areas will be promptly removed.
Items to be posted must first be
approved by the Office of the Dean of Students. Postings which are not
appropriately stamped will be taken down. General
information boards are available, and student
organizations should use the board outside the
student lounge.
Official information and notices
from the offices of the deans, registrar, faculty,
administration, etc. will be posted outside their
respective offices. Information regarding events for
the week will be posted on the calendar at the
entrance of the cafeteria.

|
Computers
and Connectivity The law school
provides more than 150 hardwired workstations
dedicated exclusively for student use. All our
computers are PC based. Our 40-station
state-of-the-art computer lab and training center is
located on the 4th floor. Open network ports
are also available in the law library and other
areas for laptop access as well as a wireless
network, which covers all of the law school.
The computer labs are open from 7:00 a.m. - 11:45
p.m..
All incoming students are required to possess a wireless laptop. For

Requirements.
For students admitted prior to
Fall 2005, laptops with an Ethernet port or a
wireless network card, can be configured to access our network when inside
the law building. To request configuration,
please contact the Office of Legal Computing at

Counseling Services
Professional counselors from
University’s Counseling Services are available to meet with students
at the Law School on Wednesday (by appointment from
10am to 6pm) or the Seton Hall University Campus in South Orange.
To schedule an appointment, contact the University
Counseling Services office at 973-761-9500. In
addition to individual counseling, group workshops
are held throughout the year on matters like
handling stress, time management, etc.
Students are encouraged to use
these services to help them cope with the problems
and stress of law school as well as any personal
problems they may encounter. Appointments may be
made by calling the
University’s Counseling
Services Office at (973) 761-9500. All
matters are kept in strict confidence.
Counseling Services also provides assistance with
alcohol and other
addictions.
New Jersey Lawyer
Assistance Program provides free confidential
services for law students with alcohol, drug and
gambling issues. NJLAP can also be contacted
at 1-800-24-NJLAP (246-5527).
Other sources of assistance to

642-8707, and Father Nicholas Gengaro, the Law

Disabled
Students
Recognizing the fact that disabled
persons make important contributions to the legal
profession, Seton Hall Law School is committed to
providing these individuals with access to all
programs and services, for which they would
otherwise be qualified. We comply with the
Americans with Disabilities Act and our building is
barrier-free.
Students with disabilities
who need accommodations should identify
themselves to Dean
Cara Herrick Foerst so that their
needs can be met. Special academic needs such as
special course scheduling or different exam
procedures will be handled on a case-by-case basis
by the Dean of Students, Cara Herrick Foerst
who must be notified by September 1. If you require
classroom accommodations advanced notice must be
provided prior to the beginning of the semester. |

Identification Cards
During Orientation, all students are
photographed for ID cards that will be issued
shortly thereafter. They can be obtained
subsequently from the Security Desk located
on the first floor.
ID cards are required for various
purposes at the Law School, and can also be
programmed for certain areas and privileges at the
University in South Orange.

Judicial
Externships
The
Judicial
Externship Program offers an exciting
opportunity for students to participate in all
aspects of the judicial process. Externs work
with a judge and the judge's law clerks on a host of
research projects, write memoranda, draft opinions
and observe the daily proceedings brought before the
court.

Lexis
and Westlaw Passwords As part of your
law school education, each student is provided with
a private Lexis and Westlaw password to access to
these important online resources. Passwords
are distributed at the beginning of each school
year. |

|
|
Lockers
Lockers are available for rent. Locker number, location,
and combination will be assigned and can be obtained
the first week of classes from the
Office of the Dean of Students. Students must be
aware that lockers will be completely cleaned out,
and contents discarded, at the end of each academic
year. (Usually in late June.) Returning
students, however, may opt to keep the locker they
had from the previous year.

Lost and
Found
Found articles should be turned over
to the Security Officers located in the main lobby
near the entrance to the law school.
|
|
|
|
Mailboxes
Each Student has a mailbox, arranged
alphabetically, and located on the second floor
adjacent to the student lounge and organization
offices. |
|
|
|
Network
Account and Email Upon
being admitted to
Seton Hall Law School, all students are provided
with a network account, email account, network login
code and first time network login password.
This allows access to our student network.
When your network account is created, a Lotus Notes
email account is also created. Over the
summer, you will receive information regarding how
to access your network account, email and what your
Seton Hall Law School email address will be.
The Law School emails law students information about
registration, courses, cancellations, job
opportunities and a variety of other matters.
Students who do not regularly check their emails
will miss numerous opportunities. |

|
Scheduling
of Student Events
All student functions must be
approved by the Office of the Dean of Students.

All events are to be cleared through
the Office of the Dean of Students. Rooms must be
reserved in advance through Gina Fondetto of the
Special Programs office. A schedule of events is
posted on the website and event notices may also
be placed on various bulletin
boards as designated, after receiving
stamped approval from the Office of the Dean of
Students.

|
Security
The Law School provides 24 hour
security. The security desk is located in the lobby
of the law school, or call (973) 642-8725. Security guards
patrol the building on a regular basis.
Students are urged to walk with
companions during evening hours or to use the van
service when returning to parking lots or to Newark
railroad stations.

|
|
Student
Organizations
We offer a wide variety of extra-
and co-curricular activities geared to the personal
interests and professional development of individual

Van
Service
Van service is supplied for
transportation to local train stations and parking
areas. The vans run from 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. during
the winter months) to midnight, leaving the front of
the Law School as needed. Students are required to
request van service from the security
desk directly or by calling (973) 642-8725 and are urged to use this
service to ensure their safety.
