Seton Hall Law School offers a challenging and
rewarding four-week opportunity for students to earn up to six
credits studying international and comparative law, and
international intellectual property ("IP") law. Seton Hall's unique
summer program offers a rich and diverse educational experience in
three exceptional countries.
In Belgium and Luxembourg, students will have an
opportunity to study European Union ("EU") policies and procedures,
and become familiar with its five principal institutions: the
Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the European
Parliament, the Court of Justice of the European Communities ("ECJ")
and the European Court of Auditors. We may also visit the European
Court on Human Rights ("ECHR") in Strasbourg, France. Distinguished
American and European faculty, as well as prominent European Union
officials, will convene the classes from June 4-13, at the Louvain
Institute for Ireland in Europe located in Leuven, Belgium.
In Ireland, students will have a unique opportunity
to study IP and business transactions arising from Ireland's new
trade policies. This experience will allow students a chance to
study IP from both global and national systems of governance from a
unique international vantage point. The program offers a broad international learning
experience through a combination of classes, field trips and institutional visits. Leuven and
Galway are European centers of intellectual property and major EU technology companies.
Classes in Galway will convene from June 16 to July 4 at the
National University of Ireland ("NUI") at Galway.
