Seton Hall University's
"Law in Italy" program provides an excellent
opportunity to sample Italian culture while receiving
first-rate instruction in cutting-edge areas of the law. The
courses offered emphasize both American and European legal
perspectives. The program takes place in Leuven, Belgium and
concludes in Parma, a city rich in tradition and
renowned for its refined social atmosphere. Each site provides
students with unique experiences. In fact, the Seton Hall
Law in Italy Program is distinguished among other American
law programs situated in Italy by its exposure to
different facets of Italian life: the cosmopolitan, the
regional and the small town.
Belgium and Luxembourg—Study
European Union policies and procedures and become familiar
with its five principal institutions: the European
Parliament, the Council of the European Union, European
Commission, and Court of Justice of the European Communities
(ECJ) and the European Court of Auditors and an opportunity
to visit the European Court on Human Rights in Strasbourg,
Belgium.

This will be Seton Hall's
20th year as guests of the
University of Parma, where our arrival is welcomed as a
regular event. There will be frequent opportunities to
meet Italian professors and students assisting in the
program. Ours will be among the few American students in
Parma at this time.
Parma is just a 90 minute train ride to Milan, the
financial and economic center of Italy, with the
nation's largest concentration of industry. This
cosmopolitan center leads the world in fashion and
design. Notable cultural resources include La Scala opera house,
Il Duomo (Cathedral) and numerous museums and
galleries, including Il Cenacolo, a monastic
refectory housing Leonardo DaVinci's "The Last
Supper."
Nearby cities and resorts all within a few hours by train
are:
Lake Como,
one of Northern Italy's most beautiful resort areas.
Florence,a beautiful monument to the Renaissance.
The breathtaking views of
Cinque Terre, the five coastal villages in the
province of La Spezia in the Liguria region.
Bologna the first railway and motorway hub in Italy; its Fiera District is the 2nd in Italy and the 4th in Europe,
with important international exhibitions.
