Tuition will be assessed at a rate of no more than $1,400 per credit. Each
student will pay $2,800 in tuition, plus a $190 registration
fee, and a $100 activity fee. First year Seton Hall students
who enroll will be assessed an administrative fee rather than a
per-credit tuition charge. All other students will be assessed
a per-credit tuition charge.
Students should also anticipate the following additional expenses
- Airfare
-
Accommodation
- Health Insurance (if coverage is not already in force)
- Visa and Passport Fees
- Ground Transportation
Student Activity Fee
- Living Expenses (spending money, food, emergency fund)
- Books
Students are responsible for paying for their own airfare. The program may arrange
for group rates for students who wish to travel together. Students
should book their arriving flights into the Kilimanjaro
International Airport. Those
students who wish to participate in the optional safari should book
their return flights from the Kilimanjaro airport as well. Those
students who will not participate in the optional safari can book
their
return flights from either the Kilimanjaro airport or the
Dar-es-Salaam airport.
Students will be required to pay
approximately $1500 (double occupancy) for housing during the program.
Health insurance is mandatory for participation in this program.
Students must have a health insurance plan that includes coverage
for medical care overseas. If a student does not have such a plan in
force, the program can arrange for coverage through a number of
inexpensive group insurance plans. Students will be required to
provide proof of insurance before registering in the program.
A student must possess a valid passport, with an expiration date
more than six months beyond our date of arrival in Tanzania. A valid
visa also is needed for entry into Tanzania. A Tanzanian visa, for
U.S. citizens, costs $100. The program will assist
in arranging visas for students holding a U.S. passport. As of this
writing, a US
passport costs $97 ($67 to renew).
Ground transportation will be provided to students free of charge.
Each student is required to pay a $100 activity fee to cover
miscellaneous costs such as tipping and program lunches and dinners.
Living expenses will depend on how lavishly or frugally a student
wishes to live. We recommend a budget of about $25 a day, which will
allow for a comfortable experience. Souvenir, entertainment, and
shopping costs are extra and not included in this figure.
Books and class materials will be provided to students free of
charge.
Financial Aid for the Zanzibar program must be included in your
annual 2008-2009 Financial Aid budget.
