Niteesha Gupte joined the Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law & Policy in 2015 as Research Fellow and Lecturer in Law. Ms. Gupte’s interests in scholarship and teaching include global corporate compliance and healthcare and life sciences regulatory law. She teaches a compliance skills course, which examines the roles and responsibilities of a compliance officer and involves practical exercises and application. She is also the editor of the Center’s health law blog.

Prior to joining the faculty at Seton Hall, Ms. Gupte held positions in both legal and compliance departments in pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Most recently, Ms. Gupte co-led the creation and implementation of an enterprise-wide corporate compliance program in a global company and managed a team of compliance professionals. Ms. Gupte has spent time living and working in Hong Kong and London.

Prior to her time in industry, Ms. Gupte was an associate in Epstein Becker & Green’s Health Care & Life Sciences practice group in Washington, D.C. She began her career as an attorney representing the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, in False Claims Act cases in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ms. Gupte received her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law with a Certificate in Health Law. She served as the student Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Health Law, which was published by the school’s Center for Health Law Studies in conjunction with the American Health Lawyers Association. Ms. Gupte also earned a Master in Public Health from Saint Louis University, where she specialized in Health Education and Behavioral Science. She received her B.A. in Biology and French from Washington University in Saint Louis.
