Faculty Office Hardware, Software and Printing
The Division of Legal Computing provides various computer hardware, printers and other devices in all full-time faculty offices, open stations and other faculty areas. Specifications are listed below:
Hardware: The law school provides each faculty member, administrator, librarian and staff member with a Windows XP Professional computer (Windows 7 coming soon) with Internet access for every office and workstation. All computers are PC based (no Macs, ok... a few Macs..) and range from the new Intel Pentium Dual Core/Quad Core 3.2 ghz to the trusty Pentium CoreDuo 2.15 ghz. All systems possess a minimum of 2gb RAM, 160gb hard drives, DVD/CDRW drives with sound and speakers, Microsoft optical mice, and 100-1000TX network cards for fast data delivery. Monitors are Lenovo flat screen 22" panels, with a few remaining 19" and 17" panels.
Software: The law school supports a standardized package of software on all networks as well as department specific software for individual user needs. Our core software includes:
Windows XP Professional SP3 (some Windows 7), Microsoft Office 2007 (including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access), Corel Wordperfect 12, Microsoft IE, Westlaw and Lexis via the Internet, Norton anti-virus/anti-spy software and a variety of utilities and specialty programs including Web page authoring software.
Printing: For printing, the law school uses only Hewlett Packard printers. Office printers range from the new P1102w to the trusty HP1200 with faculty and administration network printers as Canon C5051 color copier/printers and 9000 series B/W copier/printers.... with staplers... color scanning, PDF... and lots more...
