How to ACCESSyour PIRATENET/LAWNET and EMAIL Account:
Accessing Email through SHU's PirateNet/LawNet Portal
Seton Hall Law School provides all law students with email through Microsoft Exchange Labs, a web-based service hosted by Microsoft. To access this important service you must first access PirateNet/LawNet, our University portal, to setup your email account.
- To access PirateNet/LawNet, please go to our law school homepage at http://law.shu.edu and click on the "Log In To PirateNet" link at the top of the page.
- Once at the PirateNet homepage, enter your User Name and password in the login box on the left.
User Name: (Also known as your short name). This is usually an 8 letter code consisting of the first 6 letters of your LAST name and the first 2 of your FIRST name. If your last name is less than 6 letters then you code is your entire last name and as much of your first name as you can until you reach 8 letters. (Ex: SMITHJOE for Joe Smith). If your last and first name together do not consist of 8 letters, then use your entire last name and first name. (Ex. BELLJOE for Joe Bell).
Password: Your first time password is a pattern consisting of the first 4 letters of your last name in Capital Letters, then the last 4 digits of you social security number, then the # sign. (Ex. BELL0000#). - Once inside PirateNet/LawNet, click on the Outlook symbol
located on the upper toolbar in the middle of the page. Complete the setup questionnaire with login code, password, secret password reset question and external email address (such as a Google or Hotmail account) and your email should appear. The setup process you will only need to do once.
Your email address is your first name, then ".", then last, @student.shu.edu. (Ex. Joe.Bell@student.shu.edu).
Accessing Personal Information Information in Your PirateNet/LawNet Portal Account
Once logged into your PirateNet/LawNet portal account, you may review and update personal informationm, review holds, and review Financial Aid and Bursar Information. This is where you can accept your financial aid awards.
- To access this information click the My Info tab on the upper tab bar
