The
Peter W. Rodino, Jr.
Papers consist of documents and other materials
following the forty-year political career of
Congressman Rodino (1909-2005), as well as his
tenure at Seton Hall Law School. Documents
contained in the collection bear witness to and
chronicle American legislative and political history
of the last half of the twentieth century. The
collection is comprised of legislative records,
press and campaign materials, constituent
correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks and
audio-visual formats that span his life with the
bulk of the material reflecting work in Congress
from 1949 to 1989. The collection documents
the American political process through Congressman
Rodino’s participation in it.
Persons requiring on-site use of the Rodino
Collection must telephone (973) 642-8766 at
least 72 hours in advance to schedule an
appointment. At this time, the collection is
being processed. It is open to the public on a
limited basis.
Please note: By special order of the House of
Representatives, material related to the Impeachment
Inquiry of Richard Nixon is closed until 2024.
Research inquiries must be submitted in writing by
mailing a request providing all information listed
