Seton Hall Law School’s Peter W.
Rodino, Jr. Law Library was designated a depository
for federal documents in 1979. The collection is
currently housed on the third floor of the library
and serves the tenth U.S. Congressional District of
New Jersey. The depository is maintained in accordance
with the requirements set forth in Chapter 19 of
Title 44 of the U.S. Code, and by the guidelines
issued by the Depository Library System and the
Federal Depository Library Manual.
The students and faculty of Seton Hall Law School are
the primary users of the collection. Access to the
collection is open and free to all patrons. The entire
collection is housed in open stack shelves.
The collection does not circulate.
The depository collection is designed to strengthen
the already existing general library collection.
Therefore, the majority of the publications
selected originate from the Justice department and the
Judiciary. In addition, due to Seton Hall Law
School’s strong program in health law, a large
proportion of the documents produced by the Health and
Human Services Department are also selected. The law
school also selects most of the Congressional
publications.
