Lexis & Westlaw
Lexis and Westlaw have transformed legal research. If you are a member of the Seton Hall community, you have free access to most of these resources with the passwords that the Rodino Library provides you. Even if you are just visiting the Library, you can take advantage of our patron access arrangement with each provider.
There are many legal databases beyond Westlaw and Lexis. For example, Loislaw is another general database, with paid access generally, but available at no charge through the Rodino Library. Many public domain databases are available for free on the Internet—for example, each state court system provides opinions, at least going forward, and most federal and state agencies offer enormous resources.
Many of the most important paid-subscription-only databases are also available at no charge to Seton Hall students through the Rodino Library's Electronic Databases page. These range from very specialized legal material to interdisciplinary resources, especially important for our Health and Intellectual Property programs.
