Student Hurricane Network
The Student Hurricane Network (SHN): The legal questions and problems facing the individuals and communities throughout the Gulf Coast region are monumental in scale, and will remain for months and years to come. In order to address this need, law students from across the country have formed the Student Hurricane Network (SHN), a national association dedicated to providing assistance to communities affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Seton Hall Law Students have sought to provide support to SHN and its nationwide partnerships via legislative tracking, legal research, and advocacy. The Seton Hall Law branch of SHN may seek organizational status in the 2006-2007 school year, but is currently working under the umbrella of PIN with the guidance of Public Interest Director, Veena Seelochan. Be on the lookout for alternative Winter and Spring break trips to the affected region as well as events sponsoring continuing education and opportunities for involvement in the relief efforts. For additional information/questions/concerns and to join the listserv, please contact Krista Gundersen at: gunderkr@shu.edu or Veena Seelochan at seelocve@shu.edu.
