Integrity, loyalty, engagement characterize the Seton Hall lawyer. This year’s Orientation speakers epitomize those attributes.
Seton Hall Law alumni feel an uncommonly close bond to the students and young graduates who follow in their path. This year, two graduates, Kevin H. Marino '84 and Paulette Brown '76, both of whom have both made their mark on the national stage this year, will help Seton Hall Law welcome the incoming class at this year's Orientation.
Wednesday, August 19
In July, Kevin H. Marino ’84 and his firm, Marino, Tortorella & Boyle, P.C. achieved international prominence when they successfully argued for the New York State Supreme Court to overturn conviction of former Goldman Sachs programmer, Sergey Aleynikov, who was originally sentenced to eight years in federal prison for downloading programming code when he left the firm in New York to take a new job in Chicago.
Marino was quoted widely in the media when he said, "Today's decision is a resounding vindication of the American system of government. Sergey Aleynikov placed his faith in that system, and it has been rewarded."
Kevin Marino will deliver the Orientation keynote address on Wednesday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Larson Auditorium.
