Craig Carpenito

District Court Names Seton Hall Law Alum U.S. Attorney for N.J.

From NJ.com:

With President Donald Trump yet to nominate anyone as the next U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, the federal court took the rare step Friday of appointing Craig Carpenito, who has been in the job on an interim basis since January.

The clock on Carpenito's interim 120-day appointment was to run out next week.

The vote by the court means Carpenito will remain as the state's top federal prosecutor until the Senate confirms a nominee by the president.

"Chief Judge Jose L. Linares notified me that the U.S. District Court has appointed me United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey," said Carpenito in a statement, thanking the judge and the court for the honor.
