Seton Hall Law and QPharma Approved as Chicago Continuing Education Provider
MORRISTOWN, N.J. & NEWARK, N.J. — QPharma, a premier provider of commercial and compliance services to the life sciences
industry, and Seton Hall Law School, a highly ranked law school known for expertise
in health law and compliance education, have announced a partnership to provide ethics
and compliance training to pharmaceutical sales representatives in response to new
laws regulating sales representative activities.
Together, Seton Hall Law and QPharma will provide a turnkey training solution, which
will be delivered online via QPharma’s Ti LMS™ Learning Management System. The City
of Chicago, which recently adopted such a law, has now approved Seton Hall Law and
QPharma as a Continuing Education Provider and has approved the first five courses
the organizations jointly developed.
Seeking to ensure transparency and integrity in life sciences companies’ interactions with healthcare providers as well as to respond to growing concerns regarding the opioid epidemic, Chicago is just one of several local and state governments now requiring pharmaceutical sales representatives to be specially licensed and trained before they can call upon healthcare providers for sales detailing and promotional activities. As a result, pharmaceutical companies that employ sales representatives in these regions are now legally required to secure annual compliance training for their representatives.
“Seton Hall Law has a well-deserved reputation not only for academics but also for expertise in health care law and compliance, and we are thrilled to partner with the Law School on this important initiative,” said QPharma President and CEO Patrick P. Den Boer. “Together, we’ll ensure that our valued clients in the life sciences industry enhance their sales force effectiveness and minimize their regulatory risk.”
Kathleen Boozang, Seton Hall Law School’s Dean and the founder of its Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law & Policy, emphasized that this training program furthers the Center’s educational mission: “Our professional education programs and White Papers seek to instill an appreciation for the values that should be central to conducting business and improving the life science industry’s commercial practices. To date, over 3,000 legal, compliance, and business professionals have attended Seton Hall Law School’s compliance training courses, and many more have enrolled in our online degree and certificate programs. We are truly excited to collaborate with QPharma to expand our impact by delivering ethics and legal compliance education directly to pharmaceutical sales representatives.”
