Specializing in Criminal Law

Remi L. Spencer, Esq. concentrates her practice in the areas of state and federal criminal defense, municipal court, and attorney ethics matters. She has vast experience representing individuals, families and businesses in criminal investigations and prosecutions. She also represents clients in the administrative, licensing and regulatory proceedings that are often a consequence of the criminal actions. Remi has argued matters of first impression before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division. Remi has represented individuals in high profile, newsworthy matters and achieved successful results for those clients. New Jersey Super Lawyers Magazine has consistently included Remi in its rankings since 2011, and she has been listed upon the "Top 50 Female Attorneys" based upon peer review surveys. In 2014, the Essex County Bar Association awarded Remi the Criminal Trial Attorney of the year.

Remi is the Vice-Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court Ethics Fee Arbitration Committee, District V-A. She is a board member and trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, and she is President of the Alumni Council at Seton Hall University School of Law, where she formerly taught appellate advocacy. When Remi Spencer is not in a courtroom, you may often find her on T.V. as she is a frequent commentator on criminal cases of national interest on national cable news networks.

Prior to founding the law firm of Spencer & Associates, L.L.C., Remi was an Assistant Prosecutor in Union County. Remi received her B.A. degree from Boston College and her J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.
