  • After changing my law school AD password, why can't my Mac print wirelessly anymore?

    This is due to the Mac keychain not updating the Papercut app with your new password. To fix this, you need to delete the Mac keychain entry associated to the printer. To do this go to the Utilities folder and open Keychain Access. Look for an entry that has the same name as your Law School printer. Highlight the entry, control click, and select delete. Send a new print job to the printer and enter the correct password when prompted. Also, select Remember this password in my Keychain.

  • Where are the Lexis printers?

    Lexis printers are located on the law library 3rd floor in the open area near the stairs, and in the computer lab on the classroom side, to the left of the law helpdesk. They are stand alone printers connected directly to the Lexis printing service, and do not require you to release your print job from the SHU Law Papercut print management system...

  • What's the best way to print from Lexis?

    The best way to print from Lexis is to use the print button within the Lexis website, not the browser. Choose the print icon, then "choose settings", click the button next to LexisNexis Printer (not Attached printer), and select the printer where you want your job to print (4th floor computer lab, 4th floor library or Journals if you are in a journal). Click Print on the right and your job will process (the Processing Delivery box will appear) and when completed your job will print at the printer you selected. Remember, you do not need to "release" your print job as you normally do with standard Word print jobs at the law school, as Lexis printing exists outside our Papercut print management system.

  • How do I reset my law school AD password after receiving expiration alert email?

    To reset your law school AD password after being alerted that your password is about to expire, first login on any lab or library station with your existing password and reach the desktop. Then press Ctrl-Alt-Del and choose "Change A Password". Enter your existing password and new password plus confirmation and click the arrow to the right, and your password will be changed. Remember, you must use at least 3 of the 4 character types in your password for it to be valid, such as a capital letter, lowercase letter, number or other character like * or !. Once changed your password is good for 1 year.

  • What happens if I wait too long and cannot change my law school AD password?

    If you wait too long after receiving emails alerting you that your law school AD password is about to expire and can no longer log into the law school network or wireless, please see our law helpdesk for a manual reset. Requests for manual resets must be made in person, for security reasons.
