Marcus Hicks '03 Named Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Corrections
The Senate has confirmed Seton Hall Law alumnus, Marcus O. Hicks '03 to New Jersey
Governor Phil Murphy's Administration. Currently a member of the Cabinet, Hicks will
serve as the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Corrections. He previously
held the role of Acting Commissioner. He has more than 15 years of public policy and
legal experience, having been with the Department in 2007 serving as Chief of Staff
for the Department and Director of Programs and Community Services. Hicks also previously
directed the Office of County Services and was the Assistant Division Director of
the Office of Transitional Services.
Governor Murphy applauded Hicks and Judith M. Persichilli, named the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health, as "highly respected members of their fields" with "remarkable records of proven success."
