Our Master of Science in Jurisprudence program is designed for students who are not interested in becoming lawyers, but rather are interested in gaining a solid foundation in the legal and regulatory aspects of their industries to enhance their effectiveness and marketability.
All Master’s students are required to take:
- The Legal System: Research & Writing
- Business Law Survey
- Constitutional Law
In our Master’s degree program, students also must take six credits in at least one of the following areas of concentration: Health & Hospital Law, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Law & Compliance, or Intellectual Property Law. Students may choose to pursue joint concentrations, in which case they must take six credits in each area of concentration. Remaining credits for our Master’s in law online can be satisfied through any combination of online or on-campus electives in Health Law, Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Law & Compliance, Human Resources Law, or Intellectual Property Law. There is no residency requirement for the MSJ degree.

To enroll in Seton Hall Law’s M.S. in Jurisprudence program, you must have at least a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or the foreign equivalent. The admissions committee considers it beneficial to have professional experience in the health, technology, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, although highly motivated students without experience in these industries are also encouraged to apply. Admissions decisions are based on the quality of undergraduate performance, professional experience and expected ability to do superior graduate work. Candidates are not required to take pre-admission tests such as the LSAT, GRE or GMAT.
