As Seton Hall Law School celebrates its 75th anniversary, it is fitting to highlight the institution’s deep roots in Newark—a city that has shaped generations of leaders committed to justice, service, and civic engagement. Among those leaders is U.S. Senator Cory Booker.
After graduating from Yale Law School, Senator Booker made Newark his home, dedicating himself to its residents first as a city councilman, then as mayor, before being elected to represent New Jersey in the United States Senate. Throughout his career, he has championed issues from criminal justice reform to economic opportunity, reflecting the same values of service, fairness, and leadership that Seton Hall Law instills in its graduates.
For decades, Seton Hall Law has strengthened Newark’s legal and civic life, producing lawyers and public servants who, like Senator Booker, commit themselves to equity, justice, and community impact. Its presence in the city has provided both education and inspiration, shaping the next generation of leaders who carry forward the law school’s mission in New Jersey and beyond.
We are grateful for Senator Booker’s commemorative letter honoring this milestone, recognizing Seton Hall Law’s 75 years of excellence, purpose and enduring commitment to the public good.
