Combining Work and Play for a Great Cause

Students and Alumni at Lucosky Brookman LLP Raise $155,000 for The Save A Child’s Heart Foundation

Lucosky Brookman LLP, a leading corporate finance and securities law firm, held its Second Annual Charity Golf Outing benefitting The Save A Child's Heart Foundation (SACH) last month at Trump National Golf Club.

The Firm raised $155,000 for SACH, a 50% increase in contributions over last summer’s event. Lending their support were Summer Associates Aiyana Gallardo ’16, Jeffrey Himelson ’17, Nicholas Kromka ’18, recent graduate and previous Summer Associate, Tyler Sims ’15, and current Associates, Brian Goldberg ’12 and Brian Tribuna ’14.

Lucosky Brookman adopted SACH as its charity of choice because of its mission and immediate impact on children around the world. SACH is an international humanitarian project whose mission is to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from congenital and rheumatic heart disease. SACH is dedicated to the idea that every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of the child's nationality, religion, color, gender or financial situation.

“To see such generosity from numerous individuals was inspiring and I’m ecstatic to have been a part of this event, which benefits such a deserving cause,” Jeffrey Himelson said. “Each $10,000 raised for SACH covers the cost of a life-saving operation for one child. To know that your efforts helped to save 15 children’s lives is an incredible feeling.”

Since 1995, SACH has treated more than 3,400 children suffering from congenital and rheumatic heart disease aging from infancy to 18 years of age. SACH has helped children in 48 countries, including Africa, South America, Europe, Asia, and throughout the Middle East, where adequate medical care is unavailable.

Steve Weatherford, the New York Giants Super Bowl Champion punter, was honored at the event, receiving the Hero in Sports Award for his dedication to philanthropy.

“The golf outing was not only a wonderful opportunity to talk to associates, partners, and executives of other companies, but it also benefited such an outstanding charitable cause,” said Aiyana Gallardo ’16, also a Summer Associate at the firm. “I couldn’t have been happier to be a part of something so meaningful.”

“We are truly humbled by everyone's extraordinary generosity,” said Joseph Lucosky, Managing Partner of the firm. “Moreover, we are exceptionally proud of our current Summer Associate class, consisting of three Seton Hall students, whom have generously donated their time to the event and whose efforts were invaluable."
