Chris Porrino ’92: Nominated for NJ Attorney General
Dean Boozang calls this "a fabulous appointment."
Seton Hall Law graduate Chris Porrino ‘92 was nominated today by Governor Chris Christie ‘87 to serve as New Jersey’s Attorney General.
“Chris Porrino is a fabulous appointment,” said Kathleen M. Boozang, Dean and Professor of Law. “I am happy for the citizens of New Jersey. This is an exciting day for Chris, but also for his alma mater. We could not be prouder.”
Porrino is currently a Partner at the law firm, Lowenstein Sandler LLP, co-chairing the firm’s litigation department. Previously he served in the Christie administration as Chief Counsel to the Governor and prior to that, as Director of the Division of Law at the New Jersey Attorney General’s office.
“Seton Hall Law graduates continue to make their mark at all levels of public service, including at the highest levels of the bench and bar,” concluded Dean Boozang. “Like Justice Walter Timpone, who was sworn in to the New Jersey State Supreme Court earlier this month, and Judge John Vazquez, who was sworn in to the U.S. District Court in May, Chris combines intellect and integrity with the common sense essential to being an outstanding lawyer and our state’s next Attorney General.”
