Seton Hall Law's Data Privacy and Security Compliance Certificate Program is an intensive review of U.S. and  global privacy and cybersecurity laws and compliance standards. This program is uniquely led by legal faculty members of Seton Hall Law and top industry leaders in the field of privacy. Days 1 & 2 of the program begin with exam preparation bootcamps that will ready you to take the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US & CIPP/E) exams, followed by the PLUS Day, your gateway to getting the latest updates on data privacy laws, regulations, and compliance strategies. In addition to learning about legal and compliance standards from privacy experts, participants will have opportunities to interact with fellow professionals and potential future employers!

Earn a certificate in 3 days!
(Those who have already earned their Data Privacy and Security Compliance Certificate are eligible to earn an Advanced Certificate by attending Day 3, PLUS Day). 

A virtual attendance option is available.

We offer free re-enrollment for any former attendee who did not pass a CIPP exam on their first attempt.

The Program Is Designed To:

Promote a deep understanding of key aspects of U.S. federal and state regulatory frameworks, including business impacts due to recent legislation such as CCPA

Provide an in-depth analysis of key international regulatory frameworks and requirements, including GDPR

Develop an ability to assess risks and redesign business practices that may violate current or anticipated regulatory requirements

Provide an in-depth discussion of data breaches, including recent litigation and case studies on management of breach response

Offer a deep-dive analysis into the privacy and cyber security risks presented by third party relationships

Promote an understanding of the nexus between privacy and cyber security and provide insights into the threat landscape related to these issues

Highlight the potential impacts of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Continuing Education
    NJ CLE Credits: Approved for 24 NJ CLE credits (all general) for both formats, live/in-person and live/Zoom. 
  • PA CLE Credits: Approved for 20 PA CLE credits (all substantive) for live/in-person format only. PA CLE credits are not approved for virtual attendance.  
  • IAPP CPE Credits: Approved for 12 CPE credits.
