Collaborators/Partners: Homes for All Newark, Housing Justice and Legal Design Clinic, and the Co-Lab
Homes For All Newark is a coalition of community organizations and activists supporting
housing policies that allow development without displacing current residents.
In the Housing Justice and Legal Design Clinic, law students work alongside local tenants, organizers, and other advocates to explore
problems of housing injustice and co-design solutions that build tenant power.
The Co-Lab is a group of local tenants, organizers, service providers, and advocates
who work together to share knowledge, build capacity, and guide the Lab’s work.
Timeline: Fall 2024 - Present
Goals: The goal of the tenant resource hub is to compile existing tenant resources and provide
accessible and engaging content about common legal challenges, organizing tactics,
and other information related to tenant-driven housing justice in New Jersey.
Summary: In Spring 2024, Clinic students and Co-Lab members are building an early prototype
focused on the issue of rent control in Newark.
