Data Privacy and Security Compliance Certificate Program
About The Program
Today, more than ever, companies are dealing with data privacy risks and are looking
for professionals to mitigate those risks. Invest and take your career to the next
level with a certificate from Seton Hall Law School. Are you looking to safeguard
your firm or organization's reputation? Do you want to have the confidence to respond
like the experts to the legal, regulatory and ethical issues that they face on a daily
basis? Data protection laws are very complex and organizations face steep consequences
for mishandling sensitive data. Do you fully understand the concepts and frameworks
for corporate compliance?
This program is designed to deliver an intensive review of global privacy and cybersecurity
laws and compliance standards led by a faculty of Seton Hall Professors and experienced
practitioners. In addition to learning about legal and compliance standards, artificial
intelligence governance and privacy program management, participants will have opportunities
to interact and network with each other and with faculty.
This comprehensive program offers four bootcamp sessions that will train and prepare
you to successfully take and pass the industry standard certification exams offered
by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The bootcamp sessions
include trainings for the:
- Certified Information Privacy Professional US (CIPP / US)
- Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP)
- Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM)
- Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP / E)

"As a part-time law student balancing a full-time career, Seton Hall Law’s Data Privacy
and Security Compliance Certificate Program provided me with a strong foundation for
my CIPP/US preparation (and is doing the same as I prepare for the AIGP). The program
combined practical instruction from experienced privacy professionals with the foundational
knowledge needed not only to pass the exam, but also to become a well-rounded practitioner.
Each day concluded with a realistic scenario that reinforced the material and helped
translate theoretical concepts to real-world applications. The program perfectly complemented
my law school coursework, independent study, and commitment to Privacy, Cybersecurity,
and AI Governance. I highly recommend the program to both law students and professionals
who are interested in building a career, transitioning into privacy, deepening their
expertise, or simply exploring the field."
