Description

Each year, our Law Review hosts a symposium to discuss a challenging and polarizing area in the law. On Friday, February 27, 2026, we will be hosting a symposium titled, "The Modern Antitrust Landscape: Surveying Industry, Innovation, and Market Inequality." The symposium will include four panels that focus on: (1) an overview of agency rulemaking and the scope of the Federal Trade Commission's powers, (2) healthcare and pharmaceuticals, (3) technology and artificial intelligence, and (4) sports, labor, and entertainment. This symposium is designed to foster a discussion of key developments in antitrust law and their effects on consumers, businesses, litigants, and enforcement agencies. The first panel lays the background for the three subsequent panels, describing how the FTC exercises its rulemaking and enforcement powers to shape the antitrust landscape. The following three panels discuss the implications of the FTC's actions and emerging trends within specific markets.
